![]() Gold Strike TunicaThe Gold Strike Casino Resort, with its 31-story white and gold hotel tower, is one of the most distinctive and visible structures in the predominantly agricultural northwest Mississippi countryside.Aside from the 1200 room hotel, the resort also includes a 50,000 square foot casino, three restaurants and a food court, convention and meeting space, a theatre, an indoor pool, and more. LOCATION
The Gold Strike's prime location in Casino Center means
there is never a dull moment. The Horseshoe and Tunica Roadhouse casinos, with all of their additional
dining and entertainment options, are a
very easy walk from the Gold Strike's front doors.
OWNERSHIP
The Gold Strike is owned by MGM Mirage, which also owns Beau Rivage on the Mississippi Gulf Coast as well as other casino resorts in Las Vegas and elsewhere.
Hotel rooms at the Gold Strike Casino are similar to what we have seen at its MGM Mirage
sister properties such as the renovated Excalibur in Las Vegas. The hotel tower opened in 1997 and has undergone recent renovations,
so all the rooms and furnishings are fairly new and modern. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The carpet and walls
were mostly beige. Furniture was dark wood. In the bathroom, brass, marble, and granite were the
predominant themes.
Gold Strike's hotel rooms have views of the river and countryside, or of Tunica's Casino Center and the countryside depending on which side of the
tower they are on.
Swimming Pool Hotel guests have access to the Gold Strike's indoor swimming pool. There is also a gym and spa.
Gold Strike Casino - Poker Room Gold Strike's smoke free poker room is on the upper
level of the casino. There are daily tournaments, cash games, and frequent promotions. Gold Strike also hosts some of the area's largest
special events tournaments throughout the year.
The Atrium Cafe is an attractive and relaxing spot to eat towards the rear of the casino.
As its name implies, the cafe is decorated to look like an atrium outdoors, complete
with fake sky, fountains, a greenhouse, and plenty of plants. The small
menu includes soup, salad, appetizers, sandwiches ($8), burgers ($8), steak and seafood
entrees ($10 to $20), breakfast at all hours, and desserts.
Chicago Steakhouse is next to the Atrium Cafe on the first floor of the casino
and serves steaks, fish, and chops in an elegant, mahogany-paneled dining room.
Courtyard Buffet features a carving station, made to order
omelets, and quite a selection of other food as well.
A food court, located near the lobby has the following to offer:
Burger City has hot breakfast items (pancakes, waffles, etc.) and typical
burger joint fare.
Pizzeria Fresh get a whole pie or just a slice.
Gold's Deli serves sandwiches ($5.50), Nathan's hot dogs, baked potatoes, donuts
and ice cream.
Java Hut serves Starbucks coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts (in the lobby).
ENTERTAINMENT, NIGHTLIFE, ETC.
Millenium Theatre features headliner entertainment. Check our show calendar for upcoming acts.
Liquid Assets - a stylish lounge.
Stage Bar - free live entertainment in the heart of the casino Tuesday - Saturday evenings.
Golden Reflections Spa facials, massages, wraps, and other treatments.
