When visiting Tunica, we often spend the day sightseeing in Memphis, returning to the resorts for an evening of dining and gaming.
Elvis Presley's Graceland
Whether you are a big fan of The King or
not, don't miss Graceland. The mansion and exhibits are an enjoyable journey back in time
to the 1960s and '70s. The facilities are conveniently located
near the airport in south Memphis.
Beale Street
Located downtown, this four block stretch of pavement is a hotbed of music, dining and shopping: tour the Gibson guitar factory, enjoy great food and live music, or shop at famous Schwab's Pharmacy and specialty shops.
Mud Island Park
& Mississippi River Museum
The museum houses fascinating exhibits tracing the history of the river from early settlement to the modern age including the emergence of the paddlewheelers plus various musical genres that have their roots in the lower Mississippi region.
Outside, you'll have a great view of the Memphis skyline as you stroll along a replica of the river itself. The journey ends in a large pool representing the Gulf of Mexico, where paddle boat rentals are available.
And don't miss the Memphis Belle WWII bomber exhibit at the north end of the park.
Peabody Place
Entertainment & Retail Center
While you're there take a walk over to the Peabody Hotel and see the famous ducks in the lobby. Beale Street is also an easy two block walk away. Abundant garage parking is available.
